Reasons To Persevere Studies In The Book Of Hebrews The book of Hebrews engages us with an examination of such things as types and shadows and apostasy but gives us “reasons to persevere” through Christ who is the “apostle and high priest of our confession.” Although the temptations in our generation are not precisely the same as those that troubled the Hebrew Christians in the first century church, the problem of apostasy continues to lure Christians today. Hopefully, through this study we will be strengthened in our resolve to “press on to perfection.” (Brad Sullins – Room 103) |

"A Shadow Of Things To Come"
Shadows In The Old Testament Fulfilled In Jesus Christ Some have said there is no reason to study the Old Testament. These individuals say the only thing that is important is the New Testament. Paul wrote in Galatians 3:24, “…the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ.” In it are “shadows of the good things to come” but, as the Hebrew writer said, “not the very image.”(10:1) So in God’s Divine wisdom, He revealed His Son’s kingdom to His people in shadows as He prepared them for Messiah. We will examine several of these shadows as we discover their source and fulfillment in Jesus Christ. This study will, hopefully, enhance our understanding of both the Old and the New Testaments. (David Curry – Room 107) |

Hard Sayings Of The Bible
A Study Of Challenging Scriptures Love your enemies… Go sell what you possess & give to the poor… Take up your cross daily & follow me. The Bible has a number of passages that are “hard sayings” for the readers. Some are hard to receive, perhaps because of personal opinion & stances. Some are hard to receive because they run counter to our very human nature & tendencies. It is these “hard to receive” sayings that we will study & discuss in this class. We will study topics such as putting Jesus above all, submitting to others, physical relationships & modesty, marriage dynamics, dealing with our enemies, hypocrisy, possessions & wealth, & having true faith in God. (Wes Mallory & Chad Dorrell – Room 108) |

"How Could I Give You Up?"
Danger, Destruction & Deliverance In The Minor Prophets Even while the kingdoms of Israel and Judah tried to take their national destiny into their own hands, God sent to them prophet after prophet to alert them to the great approaching spiritual crisis. They were warning signs placed along the highway of sin leading to captivity, but they also pointed the way out through the Messiah. By studying the Minor Prophets, we can discover how God orchestrates the nations to fulfill His purposes, and we can "behold the goodness and severity of God" in our own lives. (Michael Grant & Rich Leggatt – Auditorium) |
