The Book of James: The Gospel of Common Sense Taught by Lynn Wade and Scott Flatt (Room 103) Those of us who are parents have given much time to instructing our children on how to get along, how to love, & how to have a relationship with one another & with our heavenly Father. James does the same thing with Christians. By inspiration, James provides common sense instruction on how to get along with each other, & how to have the faith that is necessary in order to have the relationship needed with the heavenly Father. Our contact & experiences with others gives our life joy, meaning, & purpose. Relationships affect life more than anything else. May James accomplish in us what he hoped to accomplish with those to whom he wrote in the first century. |

The Book of Kings Taught by Nathan Pickup (Room 108) The book of Kings can be a difficult book for Christians. It is full of strange names, unfamiliar places, and historical information about a people who lived on the other side of the planet more than 2,500 years ago. These can make it challenging for God’s people to see the relevance of this book to Christian living. By placing Kings in its historical and cultural context this class will attempt to foster a better understanding of the book’s content, its place in the Old Testament story, and its relevance to 21st century American Christians. |

Studies in Psalms: Learning to Worship Taught by Devin Harbaugh and Clay Morris (Auditorium) The Psalms are the songs of the people of God in their worship. These songs span the experiences and emotions of man and channel them into worship before Him. Proper use of these psalms do not simply allow us to express our hearts to God but to shape our hearts to His. |

Prayer: A User's Guide Taught by Don Truex (Room 107) Prayer is a window to our conscience, a measure of our humility, and sometimes a test of our faith. Like you, I sometimes wonder, Is God listening? Why should God care about me? If God knows everything, then what’s the point of prayer? Why does God sometimes seem close and sometimes far away? Does prayer change God or change me? Why does He sometimes clearly say “no.” This class, with updated and revised material, will explore each of these issues and many more. If you seek a deeper understanding of prayer and a heart to pray more richly, meaningfully and powerfully, then you’ll enjoy and profit from this study. |
